Ricoh Aficio MP C2500 not printing (Bit switch set?)

Hi, I'm having issues turning on the print functionality on my Aficio MP C2500. When this device was initially installed I had Ricoh turn off the print capability to push users to use the eFax functionality.

We have since grown in size and would like to use the color printing functionality.

    Any suggestions.

I'm assuming there is a bit switch setting that was set and the Ricoh Tech couldn't find it on his last visit.

    Thank you

Let me see if I can understand this.

Your C2500 Doesn't Print at all or doesn't print Fax Confirmations?

The MP C2500 is forwarding all faxes to an email address but it does print the fax confirmation list. The individual confirmations are sent to the user via email.

Ahh so you just need Fax Confirmation Reports (fails or succeeds) turned back on?

No, I want to use the device as a color printer. A Ricoh Tech disabled printing somehow (Bit switch setting) and it will only print confirmation pages now.

How can I set the device to print normally?

You are about a clear as mud. You start out by talking about how faxes were not to be printed (forwarded) and now you want printing. But, what kind?

Do you now want your faxes to be printed on the copier instead of being forwarded to another destination? If this is the case, read your fax manual and take a look at the functions located at [user tools] [system settings] [file transfer] [Fax RX File Transmission] on the machine.

Do you want to use the copier to do normal printing from a computer as a regular printer? This function has absolutely NOTHING to do with the fax functions, printing or otherwise

            .

Scott, if you read my original post I ask a very basic question.

"Hi, I'm having issues turning on the print functionality on my Aficio MP C2500. When this device was initially installed I had Ricoh turn off the print capability to push users to use the eFax functionality.

Like I said. I would like to use this MPC2500 to PRINT IN COLOR. I have never known a fax to print in color.

My RICOH tech turned off the ability to send print jobs to the MPC2500. Where can that setting be changed so that I can PRINT from a PC?

Again, THE ONLY PRINT OUTS are FAX CONFIRMATIONS. (Fyi, we forward all faxes to an internal email address.)

By eFax, I'm guessing you mean LAN Fax or some other type of application?
Try downloading a PCL driver from the Ricoh website and see what happens using the same IP information in the LAN fax driver or whatever you use to submit faxes electronically.

Thanks for trying to understand my printing issue.

My Ricoh tech finally came through for me. After browsing through the devices web configuration we found that the following items were disabled:

Under Device Settings - System - print spooling was disabled.
Under Security - Network Security - DIPRINT and LPR were disabled.

                  Device SettingsSystem
                  Spool Printing:
                  EnableDisable

SecurityNetwork Security (DIPRINT and LPR were both disabled.)

DIPRINTEnable Disable Enable Disable LPREnable Disable Enable Disable

Print jobs now spool and print.

                  Thanks
