different image quality between front and back side in aficio 1060

    Dear all
    I have aficio 1060
there is a different image quality between front and back side when copying in duplex,
The back side is much better than the front side (front side is poor quality)
Also When copy in simplex the quality is poor

Note : the problem happened when using both ADF and platen glass

This model have one pass duplex document feeder, so if you using ADF its normal that one side is poor quality. the resolution of both lamp are different.

You should not be able to see a difference in copy quality from the 2 scanners, but if anything the front side CCD should have better quality than the rear side CIS. You definately have a problem in there.

Give the optics a good cleaning, especially check to make sure the white ref plate is clean.

Check the mirror alignment - if one of the drive cable pulley set screws is about to shear you can get one side of the mirrors out of alignment and give you all sorts of wacky images.

Check the alignment of the lens block (they are not field adjustable, just check to make sure the "tamper paint" is still on the screws) I've had customers think they can fix it themselves and have attacked the wrong thing with a screwdriver.

What kind of PCQ? Blurrs? pale copy? Skewed copy? same when using the ADF(single sided) and from the platen glass?

sounds like damp paper. I live at the coast and you can not leave your paper in the machine overnight, otherwise you get bad copy quality. Usually when making single sided the paper curls a lot.

          Sometime tray heaters help.

Okay if single copy also poor quality, your problem is in the optic section.
If this unit have printer option try to print double side, see if the both print out is the same quality.

Is there an echo in here?

Doesn't anybody read the whole post anymore?

*grin* like I'm not guilty of that too...
