This machine has 74k on the clock, at 46k the laser diode was replaced due to the same error. The code came in again today, I cleaned out the optics, laser and blew out the diode. Ran sp 2109 to initialise dpi400 & 600. Machine kept going into restart mode and then withe first copy sc322 came up. It couldn't be the diode again. All mirrors in the laser and synch board are ok, any ideas please?

Never say couldnt be! Seen too many factory parts bad out of the box.Jack the front of the laser unit up and rest the laser modes.Check the laser power and reset all sp's back to default.Other than that,replace door switches and go from there.

Probably the door switches. Specifically the ones by the fuser. They get dirty and can cause the sc322 error.

Easy test : Replace the laser unit from another machine, if SC goes away, problem is in the laser unit.

Check SP2103-1 ans 2103-2. If those values are really high, like up around 60, then you're losing power to the laser. Most likely due to the right side door interlock switches going bad. Those machines have a fan by the fuser that blows toner all over the switches and makes them lose continuity. The 5v laser safety circuit goes through those switches so if the switches go bad, you get sc322, sc 326, sc 990, and the infamous phantom door open msg.

We had a technician that broke the toner shield glass and replaced it with a 2015's glass, Caused the same sc. Glass on 2015 is narrower.
