MP 2550: Privileges on the printer

    Hello,

I have 10 computer installed in a school. The director wants to count the number of copies printed by each class. I want to install driver RPCS but this last only goes counted the number of copies by computers.
Each class has a session on the 10 computers. I want to install several times the same driver on a computer, with a different code each time. How to make so that a session can use that a driver and not the others.

    Thanks you.
    Bye

Instead of using RPCS use PCL 5/6. There is a utility from Ricoh that will create a pop-up window to enter a user code. This would eliminate the need for multiple drivers.

You can add usercodes in the adress book of the machine. You can print a report which lists the copies made by each user.

PCL 32Bit Editor. Available on the TSRC website. For those of you across the pond it is probably on TESSA.

            Either TESSA or TRTM.

Ricoh is really stingy with this - posession of this utility by anyone other than a qualified Ricoh technician will cause your copier to explode, and radioactive green worms will eat your brain.

You might think they would post it on the website right next to the drivers. Anything that makes life easier for the customer is good for Ricoh, right??

Appearantly they think they would loose too much money selling PrintDirector (biggest pain in the a$$ application I've ever had to deal with) And they've also just released a User Account Limits package. I don't have any details on that, but at least they announced it to us - None of the Ricoh Direct techs I've talked to know anything about the driver editor.
