Where are the jams logged on the SMC? I saw one of these the other day where the feed tyre had run off the notch on the shaft, it is possible it might be doing that.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

the goose guide for Jam code 17 says 'Replace Relay roller spring clutch (D0391166)'

that being said...I had one where I had to change the sp for the for the tray lift motor reverse. I don't remember the sp off the top of my head. But the bottom line is that when the tray lifts it actuates a sensor and the reverses slightly to lower the paper a bit depending on thin or regular paper. By playing with the amount of reverse to back the paper away less I was able to make it work.

take tray one out and watch how the lift/reverse works. You'll see what I mean.

Let me add that mine was an intermittent non-feed.

Relax! This firmware injection won't hurt...but it will take 45 minutes.

I found another plate not described in the bulletin, which was bent, I like you had changed all clutches etc. The plate is specific tray 2 path, and I think it got damaged when lifting in to the van on install, it sits very low, almost below the level of the bottom of the machine. The part no is D0392791 see page UO11 of the parts manual.

Check what KopyKat wrote. There is a entry in the hot topics on the Ricoh site.Even gives you info on which way to change the sp mode.Dont remember what month it was on but i do remember reading it.

Used to have to mess with lift motor reverse time with the older xx22/27 series all the time also.
Don't take that toner with me!

At least they gave us some wiggle room with those models.Has been a big help.Yes,the 22/27 models needed some tweaking Fearless, as do these.

I've never changed this setting - the tray lift coupling is probably cracked if you need to change it.

these machines have indeed a problem with jamming
                      tray 1 ON
                      tray 2 ON

and indeed there is an RTB from it described in the pdf above.

                      I always replace D0391164 2 times
                      and D0391166 4 times
                      this is for 2 trays

but my question is when i look close to the old ones there is no difference with the new ones ( i can't see any defect!) on these spring roller clutches

I'm self asking me the question why RICOH JAPAN use such a complicate system (and hard to replace) when you looking at the other models like AF2027 with a magnetic clutch witch are working good and simple system and replace

yep i know the anwser= evolution
but spring roller clutch was used in the old FT series on a model wit R/V
                      so no new thing here

                      greetzz to all

The former seriers had occasional issues with the paper feed process as well. I've changed a lot of these paper lift-up springs. I can't say that I have more issues with the new machines.

The MPC2050 doesn't like if the paper sits too tight in the cassette. In this case the spring under the bottom plate is not strong enough to lift the paper up to the feed roller properly.

that being said...I had one where I had to change the sp for the for the tray lift motor reverse
Maybe I'm confused but I think this machine has no tray lift motor (at least for tray 1 & 2).
