    Ricoh Aficio 270, Light copies

Is there a service mode setting to darken the copies. Can someone tell me how to get into service mode for this machine. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am a Canon tech with no previous exposure to this product and am trying to help out a friend with light copies and a line through the copies.
    Thanks in advance

I cocurr with Copyaction. Ricoh dont like tweaking, however if cleaning optics does not work try forced toner supply once or twice, no more than that. If it works it will hold on it's own. If that does not work change Developer. st/cl 107 hold stop

General clean and a new drum unit, if you can find one.
Not a rebuilt one, or new DB&DEV.
It will give you another 70K.
You can cheat in user mode, but it will bite you in the ass later, because you will have to set everything back to what it was before when you have no choice but to put in a new unit, or your copies will be dark.
        Don't forget the slit glass.

Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

          270 Service Mode

Thanks, I'll clean the slit glass if I can find it. Changing developer sounds like the best idea but need to start with Quick/cheap exposure adjust.
To enter service mode, is it "hold clear and stop , enter 107, then hold down stop?
Which setting is it to darken exposure?
          Thanks guys

On digital boxes, you really don't mess with exposure adjustments. The adjustments to be made will be to dv bias, etc.

Before you go and tweak these settings, you probably have another issue, like a PCU assembly getting worn out and/or toner delivery problem.

Is the print light when you print out an internal print? What do your SMC settings say the voltages are all at? These voltages will let you know if you have a possible machine/sensor problem.
