    E3000 Fiery & MPC2500

    Hello,
My sales dept' have purchased a 2nd hand MPC2500 with a Fiery E3000.

I have not seen a Fiery before, it take about 10-15 minutes from power on for the fiery to come on line - is this normal ?
I am also getting an SC919 when we try to scan.
So far I'm not too impressed with the fiery, but it's early days.

    Thank you

Sounds like the Fiery needs to have software reloaded and all the patches installed.

Honestly, I'm not terribly impressed with the Fiery for 99.9999999999999% of users - Most print shops don't use / understand the majority of features available, let alone the average office user. Add to that the rediculously high cost and the stability issues - I tell some of my print shops to stick with the GW controller.

There are also (unconfirmed) rumors of a big fight between Ricoh and EFI that started with the C900. Ricoh bought up a competing RIP - surprised EFI didn't buy it out first - but I expect to see this as an option in the future, or better yet, integrated into the GW controllers eliminating the need for a Fiery for advanced color management.

      Thank you,

Returned the fiery back to factory settings & now boots up a lot faster & seems more stable.
Will monitor the machine over the next few days
