I don't know how to reset the password, but I can tell you how to bypass it so that you can use the machine!
Hold the 0 & 8 keys down while turning on power. Press 7, press START. There should be a 1 in the display. Change it to 0. Press interrupt to enter the new value. Press 0 & 9 simultaneously to escape and lock it in. Good luck.

The method to de activate the access mode is correctly listed. It will certainly work. Unless you have not pressed the interrupt to save the change of value from 1 ( p/w mode ) to 0 ( no control ).

REmember:
step 1: to turn on the m/c with 0 & 8 keys pressed down.
step 2: Enter the code 7 and press start
step 3: Change value to 0 ( as in ur case it shd be in 1 )
step 4: press interrupt ( to save the changes ).
step 5: press Energy saver button ( to test printing 1 copy )
step 6: all the above ok. press 0 & 9 together to exit the settings mode.

Now, your m/c shd not prompt for p/w anymore.
