    Ricoh 1224c with sc-571

Was asking for fsr oil. I did not turn Mach. off. Pulled out fsr
unit added oil, pushed fsr unit back into Mach. , closed doors, pops an SC-571
cleared codes, tried thru sp mode to man force oil. Gave me " can't, or something ". Turned off and on. Cleared oil count. Fsr temp on both in 45 range. Help. Sc-571 ? Is it oil pump or fuser temp. I removed oil tank/wick & removed some baked toner bacon.

SC571 is an oil overflow error. Fuser oil should be added at the back of the machine. There's a little cover which you should remove. Then you'll see the oil tank. Put the oil in there and the machine will add it to the oil supply unit. Oil should never be added directly in the oil supply unit. The machine decides how much it needs.

Thank you. So it's on the back of Mach ? Not on back of fsr unit ? Cause I put it right into fsr tank

It's a bit like the tank of a car. Remove the cap and fill until the oil level is at the markings. The machine transports the oil to the oil supply unit on the fuser. It use a pumpmechanism for that.

I think the oil supply unit on the fuser has too much oil in it. When the oil supply unit has "backed toner" on it replace the oil supply unit with a new one. This backed toner can damage the fusing belt.

Adding oil directly to the oil unit can cause a messy situation. The oil supply uses a flip/flop method to add oil. Add oil to the rear and dump the oil or most of it out of the oil supply unit, at least below the photocell. The machine will pump it up to the line. If in your case, it is already above the line , the machine will pump for freaking ever!
Once that code comes up, (it is a 5 code) you have to reset it with 5810 then power cycle the machine. after it comes to ready you can run the oil fill code. not before. But if you just wait about 10 min or so, it will do it on its own.
Nice machine I love it, especally how they put the charger directly below the 4 dv units.
