    3228c sc 440-002

i know what the sc code means. drum motor error. i tried to eliminate which drum colour it would be thts causing this code to pop up by switching the drum units with the black one and see if it comes up with an sc 440-001 which is the black drum. with no luck th sc is still the same.

the drums on the unit are turning like normal wen done manually by hand. the waste toner pipes are clean like normal.

ricoh said it could be the colour brushless motor. could this be right?#

anyone else out there thats experienced the same problem?

I had this recently, the motor was turning - but at the wrong speed.
Replaced the motor - no good. Replaced the drive PCB - no good.
Had to replace the motor and the drive PCB at the same time. Seems one was taking the other out.
Funny thing is someone else had the same problem 2 weeks later on another machine.

Had SC440-002 the other week on this model (all PCUs were freely rotating).

I replaced the both positioning sensors and the colour motor which did sorted the problem out.
