    5560 with E-7100 Fiery-SC997, 991 and 620

This one has caused much aggravation over thre past few months. I have updated mainframe firmware as well as fiery system software and patches. Fiery just hangs at "processing" and and eventually flips both 991 and 997 at the same meter count. the SC620 is and adf comm. error so it had me thinking maybe bad BICU so I replaced that with no success although no more 620's. I decided to replace the HDD and video PWB as well as video cable and it seemed to be OK for 2 weeks now the headaches are back. Any other insite would be greatly appriciated.

Try to disconnect first the Fiery and reactivate the Ricoh print controller and/or if you have another machine available test the Fiery on a different unit to see if you can reproduce the problems. Re-uploading Fiery software from the scratch can be another solution.

Did you upgrade the latest firwares which are available "as a set"? Do you have latest Fiery System software version 1.1? (There is going to be v.1.2 some day soon)
Reset to Factory Defaults is a good idea but re-installing System software always works.
