Don't use anything else except OEM for these machines or you'll regret it later, they will turn into a nightmare.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Hit it.

And to save big bucks, use the black pcu for all colors. You will have to file an angle on the connector at the rear for use in the color slots. Just file a 45 degree angle a little more than half way through the metal pin in the connector.
Price difference? Black (B2232042) is list at $162.98, Color (B2232027) is list at $724.23!
I have yet to get an answer as to the difference between the two (beside the connector), and I'm a Ricoh tech. If anyone knows, please share.

There is no difference between the units apart from the connector. The rest is down to Ricoh's corporate greed

MP-C4500 has one complete Drum and Developer Unit ready to install and OEM is the best choice always.

                  OEM Parts

OEM Parts are correctly formulated for the speed of the machine. Different models use a different toner and developer. Aftermarket parts pick the closest for all machines and sell it for all. This could end up with improper fusing or melted plastic all in your machine. The charge to repair the later is quite high.

Guys don't use black drums for all colors anymore if you pop out the charge roller ass from the bottom you'll notice the charge rollers are different. Supposedly the toner particle is different so the charge roller is differnt to apply charge to the drum correctly for the colors.

                          but beware !

when you nibble on that darn connector and you don't get it right...
don't smack the unit in the machine or the female part down at the end will break and fall off - cheerio !
Yep, if you dare to have it installed, we support it !
