Problems with Ricoh MP2000/2500 and Exchange 2007

We are moving our Mail server from an Exchange 2003 Server to Exchange 2007 and are experiencing issues moving the Scan to E-mail functionality of our MFP's

we have 15 Branches all connected via VPN tunnels back to head office. Currently the MFPs are set with SMTP pointing to the old server Server05.Company.com with port set to default of 25 and Authentication disabled.

when I change the SMTP server name to the new server (Server10.Company.com) and check connectivity the MFP says it succeeded but when I attempt to scan anything it says it failed.

I have tried changing the SMTP server name to IP Address, Changing SMTP Port to 587 (Exchange Client-Server address), Enabling SMTP Authentication, ensuring POP before SMTP is off and every other setting I can think of that would affect SMTP Communication in every combination I can come up with and so far have been unsuccessful.

Does anyone know if Exchange 2007's SMTP Communication differs from Exchange 2003 and what settings need to be changed on the MFP?

Did you reboot the copier after you made your change? Should do a reboot any time you make changes in the interface/file transfer settings.

Yes, every time a change was made a full cold boot was done

Maybe the machine needs an account for the new server.

I have AD accounts and Mail boxes set up for all of the servers. SMTP Authentication was not needed on the old server, but I had set up the accounts before I found out SMTP authentication was not needed within the network.

            Exchange 2007

With Exchange 2007 you have to setup a receive connector which is basically entering the ip address of the mfd. Open up the Echange Management console, open server configuration , then Hub transport, click new recive connector, name the connection then add ip address of mfd.
            hope this helps.

DM3157: Thank you so very much. That got it. I guess its something our Exchange Admin missed when he was configuring the new server. Makes sense why the one copier on site worked and the others didn't. The On-Site copier is in the 10.0.20.x subnet and the other copiers are in the 10.0.23.x and 10.0.24.x subnets

Now I can finally decommission that old Exchange 2003 box
