Hello, I recently had a print quality issue and attempted a little cleaning on my own. I removed both the fuzer assembly and the toner recovery assembly. While attempting to clean both assemblies, I believe I may have removed a great deal of toner from the fuser unit. At the same time I discovered the toner cart was about empty and replaced it. As a result I have done a nice job of getting clean white pages, including every print I make.

Q: Am I supposed to refill this unit with toner or has another malfunction such as the toner cart not turning, etc.? Please advise.

Unfortunately, you've fallen into the "I think I'll have a go at repairing my copier, how hard can it be" trap.

Don't mess around with the machine any more. Call a technician before your brainless meanderings cause the machine to be seriously damaged. It'll cost you a lot more money if you start fannying around. Cleaning should only be done by someone who knows what they are doing, a vacuum in the wrong place can cause static arcing that blows sensors.

So, in my honest opinion - don't try anything else to fix this. Call a technician.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Great way to welcome a new user. I use this machine primarily for faxing and have no service agreement on it, nor want one. How about teaching me what I need top know rather than helping in no way at all.

If you look at the Copytechnet logo you can see at the top left of this page it says:

"An Online Community for Copier, Printer and Fax Technicians".

Seeing as you are an end user and technically shouldn't even be on here, read what the other people are saying who have posted and call a technician. You don't NEED a service contract to call a technician. You will damage your machine further by messing around with it more.

Thank you for your insights, they prove to be most stereotypical. I'll go ahead and keep the machine out of service until I can get some real help.

I'll go ahead and go away so ya'll can play in your own world.

You may think these guys are not helping you when they say "call a tech", but they are. It is obvious by your post you have no idea what you have done. In the first place, the fuser does not contain toner. In trying to decipher what you have done, I believe you may have removed the developer (which is NOT toner) from the development unit which would cause a very blank copy. You probably just cost yourself more money than you think by your ignorance. Sorry for being stereotypical.
