Hey guys,
My newest tech was suppose to make an MP2550CSP ready for delivery (first time setup). And by mistake he put the MPC2550 firmware on the SD card, instead of the MP2550 firmware. Well, naturally this caused the machine to hang during update = big trouble.
We managed to save the BICU rom though, by aborting fw update (CA > 143 > C > C > C) and restarting machine. This however caused an SC 921 code (no font on SD card). I think that was due to my tech trying to update PS font with the MPC2550 firmware, even though it doesn't have the PS option installed.
So I downloaded the font firmware and updated that, or actually down-dated. After that I still get the SC921 code, this time a little elaborated, saying 'cannot authenticate SD card'.
Now, according to the service manual there should be an SD card in slot 1, a print - scanner card, but there isn't. There were no such card there to begin with, and just to verify that I checked another machine we have in the field and there are no SD card in slot 1 in that either. So I'm a little confused... is there a hidden SD card somewhere, or has the machine hung because of the PS font update to a machine that doesn't even have the PS option? (Hence the authenticaton error since PS cards are licensed).
Any advise would be great!
