SecureFTP is not mentioned in the lit. I suppose that means its not supported?

It's been awhile, but my understanding is that the only difference between FTP & SFTP is the inclusion of a user name and password in a SFTP connection. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong...

I've never set up a Scan to FTP connection on one of these little buggers, but i know that all our other newer models have fields for user name and password, so... I would assume this model would support it as well.

*NOTE* Just checked, this model does support sftp connections

Perform a search on the Global Knowledge base and you will find a lot of good info on FTP. Specifically one article Active and Passive Modes. This maybe be your problem, if you are entering the correct username and password. Perform the search on all models. Do not specify just the 171, because you will not find what your looking for.

            hi,

I'm pretty sure the MP171SPF have an option to input the username and password for FTP.

I believe you can input the username and password via each individual entry in the address book or via the "File Transfer" option under the "Configuration" option in the web interface.

Otherwise, if you go via the control panel do the following:

            User Tools/Counter
            System Settings
            File Transfer
            Default Username/Password
            FTP
and then input the relevant details.

            Working...
