Hard Drive replacement. How to initialize.

I have replaced the hard drive for Aficio 2075. It gave me error SC870. i believe there is way to initialize it, but don't know how. please help.
By the way. As long as it is IDE drive, do the size matter. does a 250 GB okay to replace with the 40 GB old one? thanks.

      2075

Check the jumpers settings on previous hard drive and set new hard drive

There was a bulletin about making sure the firmware is up to date on the 1075 when replacing the HD, due to a vendor change. Note this may not apply to the 2075 but always a good idea anyway.

I believe it may be under "special service mode", which you access by holding the "#" key when pressing the copy sp button.

The replacement drive must be jumpered as master - Cable Select (which is the default for most new drives I've gotten in the past 2 years) will not work.

The drive should automatically initialize, but if not it's SP5-832-001 in standard service mode.
