    Ricoh 1224c Error code sc571

    Hi,

I just bought a second hand Ricoh 1224c.
When starting it I get following Error "sc 571".

I read something about adding oil at the back of the printer. I checked and their is no oil anymore. Can anyone tell me what kind of oil I've to add? (If I've to add some oil...)

    Kind Regards,

    Davy

    Hi Davy

You need to fill the oil tank with "silicon oil" i'm I'm not sure where your're from, but where I am its virtually impossible to get it apart from a dealer or a company such as Katun.
Once you have replenished the oil the error code will have to be reset, I would only let an experienced tech do it as you have to enter the service mode on the machine, and pressing the wrong buttons can cause untold problems.

Get a tech to do it is my advise, as they will also be able to provide the correct oil

            Hi,

after adding the oil, do I've to do something? Like entering some codes?

            Thanks

you have to enter: "c-(yellow)", "107", "c-red", and then open "copy". go to service mode 5-5810 to reset the service call. shut down the machine and restart.

5810 will reset a fusing code, that wont do much for the issue he is having

SC571 is a fuser error (type A) and yes, you will have to reset using 5-810.

Uuuummmm...i am willing to bet that the 5810 won't correct that problem...seeing that it's something i have encountered before..This is basically what happens when a 571 has occurred...There is an overflow of oil that has overflown from the tank on the fusing unit and has gotten down inside of the copier, and of course has saturated the sensor, so no, 5810 wont resolve that issue...

I misunderstood what you're trying to point out, my apologies. 5810 will reset the code but won't solve the underlying problem (which of course will cause the sc to reoccur if not corrected).

I just received the oil I ordered 3 weeks ago. I've fill up the tank to the upper level and I installed a brand new Ricoh Black Toner. I've reset the 5-5810 service call but when restarting the machine I still get the error :-(. Someone any other idea?

                          Thanks...

Yep, call a technician. It's well out of your hands now.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

                            Hit it.

Like teebee1234 says : SC571 is an oil overflow error, NOT an oil end error. SC570 is an oil end error. So you can add oil as much as you want, this won't resolve the problem.
