The toner used to clean off of the old 551 thermistor until they'd done about 1 million. It seems that if the surface is orangey/brown then toner sticks to it, if its translucent whitish then it doesn't as much!

IAW with the manual's PM table, every 300K is the recommended for PM, for most parts, there are some that last longer. Look at the PM counter in the SP mode, that will give you another guide to look at when your at the machine, you can also print out the page of PM parts.
There are differenet views of when PMs should be performed, thru experience, a person knows that this series can last longer than the 300K PM. It will also depend upon management how they want PMs done.
The PM kit has all the parts required for the PM except for the drum and developer. I read the A2469510 drum can last nearly 3 pms, nice to know, I know people that are changing it every 300k. Unfortunately, they will not listen and will continue to change it and waste the company money.
I was using drum B0709640, had good luck with it, now all I can find for a reference is the A246 9510.
Don't forget to reset the PM counters and web if you do it during the PM. Many techs do not use the counters, it is a good tool.
The blue paper feed rollers lasts close to 900k, again, people are changing then out prematurely and wasting money!

The B246 drum certainly lasts more than one PM and can go 1.2M if you can keep the medaka under control. B070 drums have been getting over 700k in most machines, but I have never had a set of feed rollers last over 500k, and usually start jamming at 350k. It might just be the environment I'm in - humidity is awful here - I replace them if they have over 300k or I know I'll be back.
For anybody new to these machines I'd say let each section run to failure so you learn just how far they will go. The pm's are really underrated.73 DE W5SSJComment

Reviving this good old thread, where does Ricoh provides us with the PM parts listing for each model?

The kits I are assembled by Ricoh US and contain only OEM components. I doubt you can get the kit then if you are in another part of the world, but you could try.Comment

It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.Comment

Just like Detailed Descriptions (Theory of Operation) is missing from all the new manuals, and that @#$%& 3-D parts catalog they keep trying to shove down our throat.
I used to work for a company that supported its technicians. Guess that went out of style.73 DE W5SSJComment
