I have an issue where this copier is dropping print jobs. They will send like 20-30 reports from their mainframe and later find out a few never printed. It was installed (the HP it replaced didn't have this problem ) in their old building and used for almost a month and had this issue. Moved to a brand new building and still having the same issue and this is when they called it in. They are printing from a mainframe using PCL5e and are setup to print everything to the hold queue. Can the RCPS driver print to the hold queue? I havn't been out there yet but thanks for any ideas!

Sounds like it might be a formatting issue with the reports. Is the paper the same orientation as the old HP? What if they use the driver for say a LaserJet III for the machine? Also, do all of the reports know to go to the new machine? If the hardware alias is different and people don't know it, or if the hardware alias was never reassigned there could be issues.

Thanks for the ideas. We put the RPCS driver on and will see how it does. When I check back I'll bring up the orientation and hardware alias. Good stuff.

Do they have user codes enabled?
If the user code is not entered correctly by the oprerator sending the print job the job will disappear without trace.

Very interesting. I'll check how they have those codes setup. Thanks for the help.

If the jobs drop off on a regular enough basis, maybe a packet capture and / or Card Save may be in order.

Of course, if the problem is sporadic enough, then that won't help much.

I may have found a fix. SP printer mode, Bit 1001:bit switch 5, bit 4 from 0 to 1. It increased Max number of stored jobs from 100 to 1000.
They had 64 jobs in there when I looked, and they did say it was when they sent a lot of reports at once is when it happened. Made the change today and will post if they call back.
              Thanks for all the ideas!

                Good catch!

I would imaging that ELP would be a good candidate, aswell. (Although not free...)
