                  -------- Restrictions on installing and running ScanRouter V2 Lite --------

                  Windows XP, administrator authority is required.
                  Note: Administrator authority indicates an authority of a user who
                  belongs to the Administrators group.

                  * If your user account has no password, you cannot install or run ScanRouter V2
                  Lite on Windows XP.

                  * Please be sure to add both TCP/IP protocol and Client for Microsoft
                  Networks protocol by using the Network control window of Windows.

                  * Do not install this software on a computer that is acting as a domain
                  controller or a backup domain controller in a Windows NT 4.0/Windows 2000
                  network.

                  * You may have to wait a few minutes until the desktop appears after you set
                  up for the software following the reboot after the installation. If you
                  don't see the desktop after you wait considerable time, try pressing
                  Alt+Tab to switch screen. It may be hiding under the other screen.

                  * To launch the ScanRouter V2 Lite on Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, or
                  Windows XP, administrator authority is required.

                  * Immediately after installing ScanRouter V2 Lite, You may have trouble
                  with connecting to the ScanRouter server from a client, such as ScanRouter
                  V2 Link or DeskTopBinder V2/Lite. In this case, please restart the server.

                  -------- Notes --------

                  * Recommended maximum number of documents in total

                  Try maintaining the total number of documents managed with ScanRouter V2
                  Lite less than or equal to 1000 in total. The performance of the software
                  may fall if you manage more than 1000 documents.

                  * Recommended maximum number of documents stored in a folder

                  Try maintaining the total number of documents stored in a folder less than
                  or equal to 100. The performance of ScanRouter V2 Lite may fall if you
                  store more than 100 documents in a folder.

                  * Dealing with large image files

                  When you scanned an image as grayscale or color, or with the resolution
                  set to 600 dpi, or when you scanned a very large image file, the
                  performance may go down if you send such files.

                  If you are planning to work with such files frequently, we recommend you
                  to improve the performance of your computer by upgrading CPU and/or
                  increasing RAM and disk space.

                  * When using Administration Utility

                  Avoid sending a document while editing destination/sender information by
                  use of Administration Utility because it won't work correctly.

                  * Do not install on a computer with dial up

                  Do not install ScanRouter V2 Lite on a computer that is dial-up connected.

                  * How to determine the expiry date

                  The expiry date for a document will be determined by adding the duration
                  specified for the tray and the date the document is added.
                  Time is always set to 23:59:59.

                  * The network devices located in the same subnet are displayed in the [IO Device List]
                  dialog box. If the network device you want to add does not appear in the list,
                  enter the host name or IP address of the network device directly.

                  -------- Restrictions --------

                  * Connecting from outside subnet

                  If you wish to access to a ScanRouter server using an application such as
                  ScanRouter V2 Link or DesktopBinder V2 Lite located on other subnet,
                  the connection will be succeeded only when the environment allows solving
                  both host names by means of name resolution method such as WINS or DNS.

                  * Maximum size of deliverable images

                  The maximum deliverable image size is determined by memory available
                  on your computer (physical memory with/without virtual memory). Refer
                  to the listings below.

                  400dpi

                  Physical(with Virtual) Memory Black & White Gray Scale Color
                  ---------------------------------------------------------------------
                  64MB (128MB) up to A0 up to A3 up to A4
                  128MB (256MB) up to 2A0 up to A2 up to A3

                  200 dpi

                  Physical (with Virtual) Memory Black & White Gray Scale Color
                  ---------------------------------------------------------------------
                  64MB (128MB) up to 2A0 up to A1 up to A2
                  128MB (256MB) up to 2A0 up to A0 up to A1

                  If your OS is Windows 9x or Windows ME, there will be the following
                  restrictions regardless of memory size:

                  When reading resolution is 600 dpi (B&W):
                  Up to 4 meters or so (A0 width)
                  Up to 5.7 meters or so (A1 width)
                  (When the resolution is equal to or lower than 400 dpi, up to 6 meters can
                  be read.)

                  * Wide Area Network

                  Do not use ScanRouter V2 Lite in a WAN environment.
                  Depending on the type of network, a time-out may occur while connected to
                  the network and proper delivery may not be made.

                  * Host name notation

                  When DNS is implemented, host name can be expressed by either of the
                  following:
                  One with domain name (FQDN) or one without domain name.
                  It can differ depending on the OS installed. If you have trouble with
                  using one of them, try using the other one.

                  * Using Network Drive

                  From Windows XP, you can neither deliver documents to nor store data on a
                  network drive.

                  -------- Other notes --------

                  * After I/O device settings

                  After you set up an I/O device when required, be sure to refresh a
                  destination list by pressing the appropriate button on the panel of the
                  device (if available.)

                  -------- Uninstalling ScanRouter V2 Lite --------

                  * To uninstall ScanRouter V2 Lite from Windows NT 4.0/ Windows 2000/ Windows
