    drum question

I have a customer with an A045 wide format copier. It has a spot on the edge. I hate to have to buy a drum ($3000) for this if I can avoid it. My question is that long ago you could cover a bad spot and it would be a void area but not mark up the copies (fingernail polish)(ASI type). Anyone have an idea on something that will work on an OPC type drum. Thanks in advance, Imthinman

I guess fingernail polish will still work - I've heard other techs doing that as a temp fix on other OPC machines, but it usually eats the drum blade. Try it, what have you got to lose?

These drums really suck - they are stupid expensive, and they have a fairly short life. I keep hoping Ricoh will change them in the next generation... or the next... or the next

Back in the "bunny brush days" fingernail polish was a money saver, these days, as Shadow says, it eats the blade.
