    Ricoh 2045 Scanning Setup

Hi I have a used Ricoh 2045 firmware version 1.06 and wim 1.04 I have worked on new Ricoh models and have successfully setup file folder scanning as well as email scanning. So I am familiar with the general idea. I have looked around on the web and found some general instructions but nothing has helped. I keep getting an error on the copier that indicates the delivery server needs to be updated?? I am not sure if this is active or not?

The new machines are able to scan to Microsoft Server 2003 and Exchange Server without any issues and without any additional software.

I need to know if this copier will scan to email and folders as configured and also step by step instructions. I have no software for this machine so any pertinent links would be helpful. Also does this machine need updated firmware or wim updated.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

    Todd

Okay I have the email scanning working now after following advice to turn off the delivery server but I am sort of confused about the folder scanning. This is what my options are in the address book setup. How do I add entries to file shares on a network? The link is a screen shot of the setup options I have available..where is the SMB setup for folders? http://www.tcstechsupport.com/ricoh.jpg

This model does not support scan to folder. In the Network scan pdf it explains about scan router and that is where the delivery server comes into it. Read that part of the doc.

This machine does support SMB scanning. The 1045 does not.
Make sure workgroup names are the same and in CAPS in smb setup.
Make sure domain names are the same in network setup.
          Make sure gateways match.
Create a scan folder called whatever you want to send the scans. ( I call it scans.)
Share the folder with full permissions.
          Go to user tools/ system settings/key op tools/page down/add program/folder/ browse network.
If all these are set 90% of the time you will see the network.
Have each user put in the user name and password of their workstation and the (scans) folder should show up.
          Good luck.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

Hi I have read this document and I am having some basic configuration issues I believe. The document referneces Scan Router V2 Lite and can't seem to locate ScanRouter V2 Lite, so I went ahead and downloaded and installed the ScanRouter Professional EX version on a Windows Small Business Server 2003 machine and the only icons I have after installing the software are SR Manager and Authentication Manager. The server IP address ia 192.168.1.200 and the copier is 192.168.1.100. When I plug either address in the SR Manager it doesn't locate either machine? As it stands right now I am able to scan to email because the delivery server is turned off at the copier. Will this need to be turned back on? What IP address do I input on copier as the delivery server the copier IP or the server where SR Manager is installed?

                Scan Folder

We had the SCAN folder setup on the Ricoh 2045, but we moved our office yesterday and now it does not work. I am assuming this is because the IP address changed, but I am not certain and unfamiliar with how to get it working. My computer is setup as the "server" for the SCAN folder so all documents go into 1 folder that all the other work stations can pull documents (pdf or tiff) from.

Again, this was working until we moved office locations. Does anyone know the step-by-step instructions on how to get this working the way we were setup before. I am hoping there is a simply way to fix this to limit the amount of time I need to spend to get this working by Monday.

                Thanks,

                Dave

You need a tech to set up scan router for you. 2045does not support SMB scanning

Could be IP Address Change, could be new router blocking you. SO many annoying things.

And Venom reread his post. HE is using Scanrouter.

I understand that he is must use Scanrouter, that is why I said he needs a tech to set it up. Scanrouter is too difficult to explain on how to set up, it requires a tech that is familiar with it. Sometimes just deleting and re adding I/O device can resolve but a clean install may be only fix as Scanrouter is wanky.
