MPC5000 stops at Reg during run and freezes

I have a brand new mpc5000 that during a run regardless of number of copies its stops at Registration and sits in a ready state with out coming to an error. It is intermittent and has no regular time of stopping.

Are there any sc codes logged at the time of freezing?
Networking skills are advantageous but use of a 3m vacuum cleaner is essential

You can try formating the HDD - IMH part only as this causes that issue. Had it a few months ago stick a document in the doc feeder and its would just process and nothning else so formatted the HDD and not been back to it.

Seen this, if it has a finisher, disconnect it and try again. If it works one of the staple positioning sensors has fallen out

I have account with mpc4000 and same thing. I think it is caused when they print something, maybe memory overflow? Perhaps try another print driver?

I had this problem on a mpc2500. I turned out to be a faulty sensor on the paper feed unit.

                Hi
This is a recognised problem that occurs when you have a SR790 finisher installed.
                The finisher ROM needs replacing.

As this is X/O modification, the old parts cannot be used
