    Counters per user??

I have a MPC2050 with 6 users each with their own desktop or laptop from which they can print, each has a user code to use when they walk up to the mfp to scan or copy. On each pc they have also put in their user code in the printer configuration/user code auth box on the driver but when they print off a counter per user sheet the print counter doesn't increase for each user. Copies per user works ok and when i set it up from my laptop with a crossover cable the print counter on my user code worked fine and shown how many color and b/w prints i did. I only checked the settings on 1 of their pc's but the print counter doesn't work for all 6 users. Why does it work on my laptop and not on their network with the same settings ?. Thanks

Are you both using the same driver? If not, the PCL5 one works properly, the RPCS driver is a bitch to use with User Codes.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

stig, you can setup the printer job authentication from operational anel o WIM (http://<IP address>).
Printer job authentication has three settings:
1 - entire - user can't print without user code
2 - simple ALL - all user can print
3 - simple Limitation - administrator can setup five IP range. Same as Simple ALL but user can print only when IP address of the user PC is within specified IP range.

Went back and put the user codes in the PCL5 driver and all worked ok. Tried to do it with the RPCS driver and failed. I started to delete the rpcs drivers 1 by 1 on each pc and reinstalled them and tried to put the user codes in again but without success, but the boss is happy with this & asks to delete rpcs so it can't be used. All but 1 user was happy with this because he thinks the rpcs driver is more user friendly so he wants it put back on. I deleted the driver from the laptop but could not connect to the server to reload the driver...I tried to load from the cd as a local printer and still couldn't print. Anyway the IT guy who we pay to sort all the crap out is going in soon to reload the driver. I thought I was doing a good job & was pleased that I had done what the customer had originally aked for only to be knocked back by this..anyways thanks for all your replies you help me sort out the user code problem.
