    MPC3000 "please wait"

    Hi guys

Got a MPC3000 with the "please wait" message. Unplugged the hhd. Still doing it.

    Any ideas?

I'd go with the controller board. If you let it get up to the point it shows an SC code, you should be able to get into SP modes. There will be codes like 672, 819 etc. Might be an idea to have the NVram on standby too, good call dude.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Hit it.

Disconnect the hard drive first before you do anything else and reboot. I have had them fail and prevent boot up.

If i hold the "." and "#" key and switch the machine on, the machine displays a number of codes in a diagnose window.

              0200
              0100
              1400
              3000

Sorry Voltage, I must have skimmed past the part where you did state you unplugged the hdd. As stated by others, then reseat all dimms, boards and sd cards and start with replacing the controller/nvram.

No prob. Spelled hdd wrong anyway

Disconnected and reseated the hdd, dimms and the SD card, still no pulse.

Going to order nvram first, cheaper.

What if you power up the machine without nv ram in? should fall over staight away. If it still says please wait I think it's controller..... or psu ....or something else possibly.

just looked on Ricoh tech site.

                    Cause]
                    Controller board is faulty.
                    [Resolution]
                    Replace controller board.
The faulty board's LED's blinking is slow.
After the fast blinking of the LED on the good board, it changes to a slow blink and boots up.

you have to replace the Eprom. Not on the controller but on bicu

                      This is how to do:

Yellow 143 red red (Hold down)
                      SP 5807 chose/button 3 (English europe)
                      After you do
                      SP 5811 type serial number.
Nothing is impossible for them who should not do it.
