    Hi ferastec,

Seen this before when all the required settings are not selected.

Have you been able to successfully test the AD sync in system manager by looking up a username? (I am assuming you are using EO 4.1.1)

If you can test successfully then make sure the Add option is set under 'active directory updates to be applied'. AD sync should be done in a few seconds.

Let me know how you get on. I am mroe than happy to help further if needed.

    Thanks
    James

        No problems,

Do you have any AD filters set?

I would try with just Add options, no filters and no assign values set. Also make sure your looking in the correct container and the account has full access to the container your accessing.

Perhaps you could post an screenshot of your Ad sync dialog? It may help. Are you getting any errors in the system manager log?

        Thanks
        James

No Problems at all, I cannot see any hotfixes relating to AD Sync.

I have just run AD sync on our Express server (No hotfixes) in the office and the sync works a treat.

Let me know when you have some more info.

            Thanks
            James

Seems a very strange one this to me, if your tests are working but not the sync.

Just out of curiosity did you try LDAP sync at all?

LDAP = Lightweight Directory Access Protocol.

Active Directory is very much like LDAP. In EO System Manager under the Active Directory option you should see LDAP Sync. You will need to know the server name, search base, login ID and password (network username and password).

The search base is very if not identical to your AD container structure. For instance
if you have a windows 2003 domain is called training.local and your users are stored in a ou called users the LDAP search base would be ou=users,dc=training,dc=local

                    Might be worth a go

                    Some LDAP info
Lightweight Directory Access Protocol - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
                    What is LDAP?

Good software to test connection to LDAP server (i.e. Domain Controller)
Softerra LDAP Administrator & Browser: Directory Management Tool Download

Use LDAP Browser not the administrator product as the administrator product is not free.

It may not work but you may be able to troubleshoot using LDAP browser just incase it's a login error as the software will tell you. If you get LDAP Sync working I see no reason AD Sync would not.

Keep in touch to let me know the result.

                    James

                      Hi james

Thanks for the info, Dear I know what is LDAP, but I can`t see any LDAP sync over there!! Any how, I will be checking once more.

Is there any log can show me if there is an error while sync with the AD.

The 45 day demo versions allow you to use all the facilities. Can you confirm the exact version you installed?

I have run the process again on our server and cannot see anything refering to AD Sync in Windows Event Log or Equitrac System Manager Logs.

You should be using 4.1.1 now I would have a word with the contact who supplied you the demo licence.

Get 4.1.1 installed and try again, could be a problem with 4.1.0.
