Does 2060 do Automatic Area Erasure?

I don't know the exact function name, but I'd like to know if the 2060 has a function to automatically erase the black areas of the copy (useful, for example, when you're scanning a book with the ARDF open - what's the name Ricoh gives to that function?)

Sure, it's called "Border Erase".

Of course, thanks for your reply. But some (most) of the old Konica machines have this feature called something like "Outside Area Erase" (don't know the exact term, I've only seen it translated to my language). So, if you just select this option and open a book on the original glass, the machine automatically erases the black area around it.

It's quite handy because you don't need to measure stuff or do experiments - it just works on the first try.

I've seen it on a new Ricoh (the MPC2050, if I remember correctly) but I'd like to know if the 2060 does it - I couldn't find it, but it doesn't mean it doesn't have it (I could have been looking at the wrong place).

I know what you mean but never heard of it on a Ricoh machine.

I know exactly what you mean. The feature will detect all black borders that are surrounding the image and will ignore them. As far as I know Ricoh machines don't have this feature or I don't know about it.
