    Aficio-2105 showing sc672

I have one Aficio-2105 which is displaying code SC672. After turning on the Main Power switch machine initializing to its normal condition and whole system is running normally but display still shows PLEASE WAIT for long time and after that it displays error code SC672.
Any help in this matter? Thanks in advance.

SM indicates a controller start up error-possible defective controller. Make sure the controller is seated well.

It may be firmware problem because it was copying perfectly before this problem. Complete engine is functioning and initializing exept the display is not changing from Please Wait to normal screen. Any idea?

I had this error on a different model.

In my case the fax function wasn't coming to the ready state and then I would get the SC672.

When I pulled out the Printer/Fax controller unit. The fax board was not seated properly. As soon as I reseated it all was good.

So I would check all connections and reseat anything that you can.

The hard drive is bad. Replace it and you'll be good to go.

I agree, the Hdd can interrupt the controller boot sequence and cause SC672.
Disconnect the HDD to confirm boot up and if you replace the drive remember to set the jumpers to "Master".

It's the hard disk all right ! This is a known issue by Ricoh, they have new firmware to solve the problem. You can take the HDD out and via a IDE converter hook it up to your computer. Go to diskmanagement and initialize the HDD, then format it. If this action goes well, remount it on the copier !

              succes

I replaced the controller board even but machine display status is still PLEASE WAIT. No more 672, all the machine engine is functioning except display does not change from please wait condition. I will replace the hard drive and check about the problem. Thanks

Just disconnecting the hard drive will do the job! to see if the rest of your machine is okay, you just have no adresbook and no scanfunction when you disconnect the drive....

I tried disconnecting the HDD but machine display is still showing PLEASE WAIT. All other engine is initializing normally. PLEASE WAIT status does not change even the machine is power on for 10 minutes or more. Any idea?
Thanks and have a nice day.

With the HDD disconnected, turn of and on the machine.
It should start up . If it doesn't you must disconnect the faxunit. The faxunit can cause a hook up of the controller. Check the memory as well.
If you still have WAIT , remove ALL options and start up with a "naked" machine.
Do you have a spare operation panel? The machine starts up bij a controller which is on the OP !!

                      Good luck and happy hollidays

Could be the memory. Try reseating it or better yet swapping it.
