This is one of those that was going along fine until I cleaned it. I sold this copier to a unit that took it to Iraq, blew the power supply and shipped it back for repairs. When I got it it looked like it had tumbled over and over. It was covered in toner. I cleaned it and changed the power supply. The first copies had a large black streak on the side. I pulled the drum, cleaned the front of the laser lens, pulled the glass and cleaned the mirrors. I found the crap on the mirrors lined up with my streak. However, when I make copies or print a meter, my background is grey and banding in different shades. I swapped the drum, and rechecked everything. It must be a charge issue, but I can not see it. Before I cleaned the inside and mirrors, I had a white background.

OK never mind. I pulled my head out of my ass and cleaned the post that charges the drum and all is well again. These things work different than the Konicas. The greatest enemy of knowledge isn't ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge. Stephen Hawking
