    Ricoh 1035

Yesterday, I posted a thread concerning an SC 990 error code. This morning I was called back for an SC 320 error code. The symptoms of this code was happening to them yet they shut the copier off before the copier errored out. Two questions; 1) can problems with the LD unit cause SC 990 error codes???? 2) can the LD unit cause line problems that don't run the full length of the page usualy at or near the bottom half of the page and lok like obstruction touching paper as it leaves the PCU unit. This happens occassionally not constantly and wil do it whether copying, printing, or receiving faxes.
    Thanks!!!

SC 320 is a polygon mirror motor error, Ive seen that cause weird intermitant image faults like you've described before they have finally fallen over. Not sure if it relates to your SC 990.

Guess the only way to be certain is to replace the PMM, see if the sc990 reoccurs with the same frequency. I'd have some new front door switches on hand just in case. Id be tempted to replace them in any way whilst I had the panels off if you haven't done it on that machine before.

Change your front door and rigth cover switches...it will solve the line issues....the switches make contact and loose contact now and again ( the thing is it also supplies your ld unit of power )...sc 990 on the other hand "firmware upgrade" and if that doesnt solve the problem , well new controller would be the "in thing"...

SC990 quite a few times for me was the HDD... I've reformatted the HDD but it usually goes out completely sooner rather than later.

I have seen the Laser power maxed out and cause SC 990's.Replacing the door switches and HDD seem to have been the fix along with upgrading the firmware even if you only reload the current version.

            SC 990

In the past I found that sc 990 is caused by id sensor seeing too much dusting on the drum. In each case this was solved by replacing a drum and developer. Quick way to check, check drum unit when code occur

i am with Alexdro17 on this one.
SC990. Caused by the Drum coating worn. Replace drum and dev plus mag roller all will be well. It can cause funny codes.
Sc320 laser error. Can be dev on laser driver PC at the frount of machine. You may need a new laser but go for the drum first.

Although the SC320 could cause SC990s at process control...I don't think that it's a coincidence myself
