    Mpc-7500 & 4000 scanner can read barcode

MPC - 7500 & 4000 is compatible to scan barcode without any barcode
recognition software.Any of our scanner driver work compatible with
    our m/c to detect barcode.

If detect barcode : I put ten different barcode label in ten different
page and put in ADF will after detecting barcode it will create ten
different .pdf file, unlike a single .pdf file

Anyone any idea can reply. Thanks

No MFP on the market can do what you are asking, at least that I'm aware of - I know that the Ricoh product certainly can't.

The closest you may come is to tell the machine to create a new file after each page, but it simply can't read a barcode.

If you were to add an enabler product (software), NSi AutoStore has the ability to do this easily, as long as you also have the Refero2 option.

If this is an extremely important need, the NSi route may be worth looking at. (That is if it's available in your area.)

Ken is right. What your talking about is called Bar Code Separator sheets. Basically, you use barcodes to separate documents in a batch scan.

You have to have software to perform these tasks. Nsi, as mentioned by Ken is one. But there are thousand others. Ecopy, DigiDoc Flow.. the list goes on and on. You could utilize the "Divide" function on the MFP but, you will find that it probably will not fit you need since you have to manually tell the MFP at which page to separate the documents. If that's all your looking for then great! If your looking for more indepth features, which embedding metadata in bar codes does, then you will have to go the software route.

In our territory we have a hospital that just upgraded to Ricoh 4000's, 2550's and 6001's. The salesman told me they will be able to scan bar codes. I assume its some java platform, but Ken is right, it won't work on it's own you need the software to do it. I'll ask more about this next time I see the salesman, but what salesman say and reality are two different things.

And in case you didn't know. Under scanning, go to file name/type and set it to single PDF not the Multi-page PDF. Hit the program key and set to default, and now if you have 11 pages it will scan as 11 pdf's.

As we stated in our previous threads, the MFP can't possibly read barcodes on its own.

There are numerous solutions which will support this, AutoStore only being one of them, but all of them have additional costs associated with them. (Another possible candidate would be Dataworks3, which is a Ricoh product.)

If you can get the machine read the barcodes on its own without any additional software, PLEASE let us know how! Inquiring minds want to know!

Well I spoke with our salesman about just how the new Ricoh's are going to scan the bar codes, and basically he didn't know what he was talking about the 1st time he told me about it. The hospital has some older Canon software capable of managing barcodes from scanned documents. It turns out that it's doesn't work with the newer Ricoh's, so I imagine that was a fun conversation between the salesman and the customer.

And as stated by KenB and Unisys, you need buy (or find freeware) software program to sort the bar codes.
