Can some one please tell me how to shut ecm mode off so that every inconsequential line error does not shut machine down>it was off for a long time<somehow it reset>

Set bit 0 to 0 for Communication Switch 01 (ECM is switched off for all communications). -

I spoke to customer today and they said it happens on send and recieve,but when ther ECM MODE IS off that the machine is fine.Could you tell me exact procedure to sithch to off.I say your reply but Im not sure how to access service swichs to switch bit #.
