    Hi

Q1 - The HDD is SATA - this is from the manual:
HDD: A 2.5" HDD (more than 40 GB) can be connected using an S-ATA I/F.

Q2 - The documents are stored on the HDD using Ricohs own version of UNIX and cannot be read.
Ricoh did produce a File Format Converter option to view and download pages from the HDD for some models, but I do not think for the 1035.

    Hope this helps.

Q2- Did you mean read documents scanned to the document server of the MFP or see documents scanned to a PC? Documents in the Document Server can be seen using your Web Image Monitor and printed but not downloaded to a PC unless you have the converter, as stated by Fridgemagnet.
Documents can also be scanned to a PC/Server, you will have to use Scan Router Lite (for the 1035) loaded on the server to enable this. Newer MFP's (like the 5000) have SMB scanning built in.
