Ricoh 3245C can not dial in fax mode

I have a 3245C that can not dial out, the number pad does nothing no beeps or anything. Firmware is up to date. The number pad works in the Copy function when entering the number of copy's. I have swaped out the fax board reset the dip switches all are default. I've checked all security settings. I suspect a faulty touch panel but the other tech here disagrees and says its a security setting.

All firmware is up to date. Never heard of a security feature to prevent button usage besides User codes. Hmm I don't think it is your console either. I would guess NVRam or Controller. But that's just a guess.

      Check telephone cord.
MFP connected to telephone line directly or through ATE that installed in the office environment?
I don't know anything about our telephone lines and standard but I had two cases with same problem.
Ricoh FAX work if the telephone cord contains ONLY two wires that connect to the middle contacts in the jack (3 and 4).
This was happening on FAX that was connected through office ATE by the telephone cord with four wires.

I also had this problem with some bad wiring once. It was really weird.

That didn't work... I had the customer try and dial with no line connected and with a 2 pair cable. Guess I can try swapping out the controller. I already tried the fax board.

Receiving a fax is fine. I can use on hook to get a dial tone but I can not dial a number. I can program a one touch and it works.

That is just bloody weird. Talk to Savin/Ricoh Hotline Yet?

Only thing I could find in the service manual that would disable the ten-key is system switch 0A which can disable or enable the key pad when an external telephone is off-hook. I don't think that pertains to my issue though. Right now I'm trying to get a hold of a controller to swap out.

I can try calling support before I head out there.
