    Scan to email Ricoh 2020D

    Hi,

Im trying to setup my 2020D to scan and then email me the scan but dont know how to do so. It prints fine on a network. but cant make it scan to email. I put in a key operators email, and smtp server name and authentication to no avail. Is delivery option supposed to be on or off?? Any help is good.

    Fill in :

    IP-adress
    Subnet Mask
    Default Gateway
    DNS-server
    SMTP-server
    Key-Operator email adress
Set Key-Operator email adress as default sender.

    Optional :
Set the default file type to PDF.
Set the resolution to the desired value.
Set max email size to off.

Make sure that the SMTP-server can forward email from the AF2020D. Delivery Option should be set to off, unless you want to use ScanRouter.

      Still not working

      Hi, Thanks for your help.
      Heres what I got...

Under user tools > System settings > Interface Settings > network:
The following is filled out: IP address, subnet mask, gateway address, dns server

From user tools > System Settings > file transfer
      delivery option is off
      smtp server is: smtp.gmail.com
      port is 25
      smtp authentication is on
      pop before smtp is off

I dont know where to set key operator as default sender, and I dont know how to check if the smtp server can forward email from the 2020d.

      Thanks.

You should be able to find the Key Operator / Administrator e-mail address field under the File Transfer tab and be able to set that as the default sender.

Who is your email provider, or is it an onsite mail server?

SMTP Authentication is ON? Try switching this option off. Normally you don't need to authenticate to send mail (only to receive).

The Scanner Reference Manual (on the CD supplied with the machine) explains how to set up scan-to-email.

My email provider is either gmail or me.com.

            Ive tried:

            smtp.gmail.com
            and
            smtp.me.com

I will try with authentication off.

              Problem Solved

              Hi all,

I was able to get it working finally. I used smtp.me.com without authentication and it worked fine.

              Thanks.

Yeah was gonna tell you. GMAIL is a NO GO as far as I've ever heard.

SSL at Server and Port level. Savin only SSL at Server, not at port.
