    5560 time and date incorrect

Here's the situation. I have a 5560 in the field that randomly decides to change the date and time on the machine from time to time. I haven't been able to determine if there is a pattern to it as the customer doesn't always notice it. I have set the time myself twice so far and it keeps going out. The firmware is all up to date as of nov/09. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like the NVRAM battery is dead. Print an SMC and see if any values reset to default after the time clears.

I've changed batteries before, you can read off the spec from the existing battery and usually find something either on line or from a local source. I would un-solder one connection and check the voltage across the battery to confirm it's dead before changing. If you get one thats the same voltage etc but a different shape you can always use jump leads to connect and insulate the battery to avoid shorts.

Of course, it's not certain this is the fault!
