mpc 5000 sr 3020 booklet finisher jam

i have a booklet finisher sr3020. it stops just when it gets to the roller just past the entrance sensor of the finisher. cleaned the rollers and entrance sensor works, checked in input check. however i noticed tht the roller does not turn when the paper reaches the roller. checked in output checks and it turns fine. tried feedin paper through manually and goes through fine. theres nothing blocking it and paper isnt creased. what can it be?

What does the SMC report say...what jam did it record?
Does it print fine to inner tray? Does it only happen when sorting? Does it jam from all paper trays?

Check sensors through SP mode to see if false reading.
SP6140-1 finisher entrance reads 1 if paper present
SP5803-73 bridge relay sensor reads 0 if paper present
Is it possible a gate is directing paper wrong in finisher?

This may be too late to reply, but if this finisher has been on an earlier MPC, you get the same fault, when it is put on a later model MPC. You need to upgrade the firmware on the finisher, it is seperate, and not in the "all firmware" zip file.
