    Aficio 1224 Vista printing

I have a client withan Aficio 1224 (yes the dreaded one). Fortunately it hardly gives any trouble and hence the client is still holding on to it and has now added some computers with Vista from which he would like to print. The problem is that we can not apply a user pin code and then apply rights of usage and audit the usage at the end of the month. has any one faced such a situation. Any suggestions welcome except to trow it away as the new users are 3 Directors and the company is one of the group of companies we form. So please understand my situation. regards to all

What do you mean: "we can not apply a user pin code and then apply rights of usage and audit the usage at the end of the month!"
Does machine give you errors or machine is not logging usage or what else.

Can you set up "User Codes" into machine and driver? or Not?

Had a Savin that did not support user codes and Savin/Ricoh PCL Drivers at Vista launch. Took a Firmware update to the machine before it would recognize the print jobs from the Vista PC's.

Well here is the technician's report on this.

Our clients have been using the machien as a network printer for the past few years and had no problems upgrading as far as XP. A few months back 3 directors had upgraded their laptops to Vista and thier IT tried setting up as before using drivers downloaded from Ricoh site. The difference is that when installin XP you get to a point where you are asked to input the designated pin code, whilst these Vista drivers do not . When printing you are prompted to input the pincode and once the print job is sent the machine gives an error SET KEY COUNTER and stops all print jobs even from XP machines.
Can anyone make heads or tails of this?
            regards all
