    Ricoh 1232 incompatiable parts?

Just had a Lady call me who was sold a second hand Ricoh 1232, which "some ricoh guy" diagnosed as a favor for her....the problem is supposed to be with part of the scanner (or perhaps scanner board)..she says they ordered a replacement part but it had 20 connections instead of the 22 her machine needs...

waiting on an email from her to see what exact part they acually ordered, and i'm reading through all the fan mail this machine gets.
sounds like some of you have some history with these units.

I'm wondering if this rings a bell with anyone..and more importantly...if this machine is no longer supported what my odds of finding someone with the right part might be.

I will update when i get the part number ..

There have been issues with the SBU boards (read Lens Block Assembly) on these. I'm not aware of the new units having a differing number of connectors than the old (It's mercifully been some time since I've had serious dealings with these).

The SBU Board for the AF 1232C is B0511689. However, it only has 5 connectors on it. Could it be the BICU Board or the I/O Board? Sounds like THEY NEED A TRAINED RICOH TECH! There are still a lot of these PIGLETS out there, unfortunately; I don't think parts are an issue yet.

Was the problem colour (Cyan?) banding across the copies? If so probably the Lens Block. Could the one she has be from the AF3224?

I would suggest a 1st floor window and a dumpster!
