I'd try updating the firmware. A ping reply but not being able to pull up the web interface sounds like corrupt firmware or bad main controller.

Indeed a firmware upgrade is what I would do. Sometimes a memory clear is in order.

Or it's a duplicate IP address, ie one which is being used by another device on the network. Unplug the copier and see if it still pings.

wouldn't copier mention the duplicate IP on its screen?

            Hmm, dunno, probably.

Can I retract my previous suggestion?

I'm now going to go with wrong subnet or, as I'm so sure of myself, duplicate IP.

Actually I think that firmware might be right but you already baggsied that!

Hmm I've seen copiers print with the wrong subnet in them. Not sure how they did it though lol.

I saw an MPC2050 print today with no subnet address and the subnet address in the gateway. It still printed. HOW??
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

                      Hit it.

Same question I asked earlier, I would assume it works due to the Internal Router Tables on the customers Router. If the customer is on a switch that would be interesting since they only work at the MAC Hardware Level and wouldn't know what to do with an IP.

As for that Goofy Gateway. Well Gateway isn't needed unless you want to Scan I think, that and DNS of course.

Do you see the Print or scanner options in User tools and SP mode?

If one or both are missing it's probably the same problem the MPC6000 / 7500 had with firmware. Just installed 3 MPC7500's and all needed firmware upgraded to see the Print controller.

I was just at a totally different machine with the same issue. Clear the Printer and Scanner applications, Web applications and Network settings and reformat HDD and all was good after re-inputting network configuration.
