    Savin 816 Copy Quality Issues

    Ok Here is the details

Replaced PCU, Transfer Roller, and Hot Roller due to being maintenance time. Copies were a bit overtoned this fixed it and the line the Hot Roller makes when it gets worn from Thermister/Pawls.

Two Days later customer calls about Copy Quality Issues.

Copy Counts and SMC Print PERFECT

But ADF or Platen Copies have right side of page all blurry and tons of lines like bad charge roller.

    Cleaned optics, no love.
    Updated Firmware, no love.
    Replaced Lens Block unit. Nope.
Swap PCU with known good one.. Nope...

    Tried another BICU board.. NOPE.

What the hell else is there????

When you make a copy off the glass have you watched the scanner?Does one side drag or is the scanner out of alignment?Only other thing i have would be to check all your mirrors and make sure they are correctly mounted.

Well as you may have noticed in the past this was usually caused by weight put on the scanner assembly by the customer on the Savin 2535/4535s
Same principal applies here it seems. One of our techs whom we "TOLD" to check the frame said he saw no plastic sheering and such. Regional Tech was down on a conference for training and he had a crack at it.

After removing back/side covers it was discovered the black plastic support stay was cracked. He said good luck getting that to ever be right again.

I chuckle, cause I Told the customer this was probably their fault for leaning on the machine, but they explicitly denied it. Gonna be interesting seeing their face when we show them.

LOL.Gotta love the "plastic" support for the scanner. At least the 35/45 were made of aluminum (or a collection of some beer cans recycled).
