Scan to folder with Wndows 7

    Hi

I am trying to set up scan to folder on a MP171. I have shared a folder with "everyone" and made the permissions read/write. I can access the folder from any other PC but when i setup a user on the 171 i get a " Enter path is not correct. Please re-entered" This is just after i "Browse network" and enter on the specific pc name.

PC account has got a password. File and printer sharing is enable as-well as network discovery.
Have also tried disabling firewall and anti-virus.

    Any ideas

I've noticed these issues before and the only real explaination I've got for it is that the machine linux core acts a bit different than windows does. But it's usually solvable though.

What happens if you replace the computer name with the IP address of the computer? Can you browse to the folder then? If so, SMB server setup is in error.
Is the computer a member of a domain? If so, add a new account to the active directory for the machine, and enter the credentials in 'Standard SMB username'.
If it's not in a domain, try to disable UAC at least temporarily. Go start > in the search field type 'msconfig' and on the last tab find 'deactivate UAC'. That's really for Vista, but I think it's there in Win7 as well. At the very least, adjust the UAC settings to the lowest, just to make sure it's not that. The UAC can cause all sorts of strange issues...
    Peace sells, but who's buying?

Had a Savin 8030 which is pretty new, only Win 7 SMB I've had to do so far. It also would not browse. I Just logged into the Web Image Monitor and manually put the info into the address book and it worked.
