    ricoh 2022sp error sc724 help...

    i have a ricoh 2022sp that is giving me a 724 error code. every time i open and close the finisher door, the parts move around like normal but then i hear the stapler making staples..!! i have no clue on what to do, i know its a stapler problem... i also get a j031 paper jam error, and there is no paper jam.. can some one help me out?? thanks in advance.

    Either the staple head or cartridge is broken. Try a new staple cartridge first, if that fails you need to replace the staple head.
    It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      May be the Harness

      Cheated front door, observed the movement of staple assembly at initialization, Assembly should go to the rear then back to the front, jogger and stack belt also moved after that. If they don't , try to replace new harness connected from staples to main board.

        the staple assembly moves back and forth just fine, once it stops the stapler starts to stapl for some reason. then it also gives me the paper jam error.

            i installed a new staple cartridge and that solved my problem!!! thanks to all of you that have taken the time to help me out its much appreciated..
