    SC990 on Aficio 2018

    Hello everyone.
    Please excuse my bad English.
The customer turn off, turn on the machine and resets the error.
    The problem occurs intermittently.
I have read in forums that might be a problem with RAM, controller, cables, boards, hd (but do not believe in this case because the machine does not there is any) and which could also be the drum, which actually has more than 60000 copies.
It would certainly be useful to perform a firmware update but which card?
    Any more ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

    Bye

The 800 and 900 series errors are usually related to software most of the time; the firmware update is recomended by using an SD card. You need to have access to the firmware files to put in the card. After the firmware update or before; I will go into the sp 3001 and see the value there. If is higher than 80 it could be drum related. Below find a detail of the possible solution from the documentation of the machine.

    Software defective
    Internal parameter incorrect

    Insufficient working memory

When this SC occurs, the file name,
address, and data will be stored in
    NVRAM. This information can be
checked by using SP7-403. Note the
above data and the situation in
which this SC occurs. Then report
the data and conditions to your

    technical control center.

Firmware is done with a flash memory card, I think this is too old for using SD card.

I updated the firmware of all boards except the fax.
I have performed maintenance of the PCU with the exception of the developer.
I cleaned the contacts on the ram.
I hope the problem no longer occurs.
        Thanks a lot.

as i recall for this machine having SC 990, recon the pcu and change the consomables will do the trick... anyhow good luck sir.
fix the customer first then fix the machine... its simple and makes life more easy.

The developer should be replaced at 60k.
But the customer is stingy and I am replacing only what is strictly necessary to enable the machine works with a good quality copy.
Because the developer did not cause poor quality, I have not replaced.
If you were to reappear the sc990, also replace the developer.
              Thanks to all.
