    3245 won't add toner.

Replaced Developing unit 3 times and it seems to think it has enough toner so it won't add.
Set up the machine to add more toner through service mode, but it won't automatically add.
I can tone it up in service mode and it is good for a few days.
    Any ideas???????
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

only one colour or does it ask for toner at all?
Check the toner hoses, vaccum them out, second, check if the waste toner pipes at the inner backside of the mashine are clean, vacuum them out also

Check you TD sensor value, and your VREF value for that dev. unit. Also check to see which mode of process control the machine is using.
Don't take that toner with me!

Not asking for toner and when DV unit is out of toner it starts pulling DV.
Getting a #6 process control error VK error machine shows +245.
If it were a toner add problem the machine would ask for toner and keep trying to add.
I have almost no developer in the black DV unit and it still won't ask for toner.
Brought machine into shop, but still need ideas.
        Thanks.

I would try the developer drive clutch. If these stick on, then it will cause the developer to drive constantly and deplete your developer.

            Agree with ucinn on clutches.
THe way to check it out is to print big coverage of that color and see if printout has diagonal lines on it (approx 45 degrees). If it has it - 100% dev clutch is DEAD I recommend to replace them as a set (4). Good luck.

Went into service mode to test clutch output.
Only the magenta clutch turned on and off that I could hear.
All the others turned on but not off.
It is now a parts machine.
Drive problems on a color machine will haunt me.

              Thanks for the input!

It's not that hard to replace those clutches... 45 minutes to an hour for all 4 of them. Maybe a little longer the first time you do it because of reading the instructions, but after that it's a breeze.
