    Aficio 3228c line postion adjustment

    wondering if any one could help
    had to swop out the bcu board to solve a finisher problem and now am not able to get the line position adjustment to work therefore have colour shift

    Go into service mode SP 5 993 / 39 rough adjustement then SP % 993 / 2 fine adjustment

      Did you also move the NVRAM to the new board? Try putting in all the non-default settings (from the birth certificate).

        .... and if nothing helps - then $$$$ REPLACE TX belt unit $$$$$$$ costly but sometimes you have no other way to fix it

          I would thoroughly clean the ITB unit, mainly the inner belt and upper roller before I replaced the whole unit. The belt needs to be transparent, and the roller must be reflective. Clean all 3 ID sensors and run the forced line positioning (rough then fine). If the transfer belt is in bad shape, you can just replace it as opposed to the whole unit usually. Also make sure the ITB cleaning unit brush and/or blade is not worn in the center were the ID patches are developed on the belt.

          Poor ID patch density due to worn out drums/developer units can cause line positioning to fail also.
          Don't take that toner with me!

            Thanks for all the info got it sorted out by re inputing all the non default settings
