    Lanier lp128

    I have a Lanier lp128 about 5 years old. - medium usage - ill say 100 sheets a day.

the copies are coming out light, and its looks like the paper is not clean you will see like the toner all over the paper very light coverage sort of like a grayish color ill say a 2% gray.

is this the drum or the blade??

but the copies are very light even though we have changed the cartridge. the higher the density, the darker the paper gets with toner.

my other lanier dont have this issue.

I would like to know what is going on.

    thanks

At that volume, the black PCU and dev will have done around 120k and they should be changed at 50k for the PCU and 100k for the dev

These machines have to have complete units fitted. There are 4 photoconductor units, 4 developer units and the fusing unit. The machine will ask for parts to be replaced as they come up to their predefined lifespan. Usually the have to be replaced as a set, i.e. a full set of photoconductor units or a full set of devs. If the machine hasn't been asking, it's likely the PM alarm has been switched off. The way to go from here is to replace the feint photoconductor unit and the development unit, this will sort your problem out.

One other thing - if you get a fault on these machines that seems a bit odd, DO NOT try and repair it yourself. They are an oddball machine at best, but when they go wrong, get a technician in. It'll save you money in the long run.

        Hit it.

          Thanks

thats Help me quite a bit.
Now i have to go find parts for this thing, I think its just might be better to Just get a new copier in the long run, because if replacing semiconductor, could lead to other problems.

          thanks again

Maybe. However if the machine is in good condition, why stump up the extra dough? Get a tech to give yours a look over. I'm willing to bet if it's low volume it'll be easy to fix and the tech can advise you if the machine is needing replacement.

The fuser would also be due - by the time you've paid for a complete set of all consumables on such an old machine, you would be better off putting it towards a new copier - an MPC2030 or above would meet your needs unless you have a finisher, then get an MPC2800 or above.

Are you guys sure what machine you are talking about ? isn't this a LP128 ?

If you have this machine just put a new toner cartridge in it's an all in one.

Well bugger me. I looked up LP128 in my manuals and it said it was a Jupiter-P4. Well spotted! If he has changed the AIO and it hasn't fixed the fault tho, it's a tech call. Arcadian, just confirm for us, is this machine a little black and white printer or a big, honking colour one?

Actually fellas its was a lanier ln118 but we also have a lanier lp128.
Sorry for the mix up, the lanier 118 is having the tinting problem all over the page.
while the lanier lp128 is having tray issues its not detecting the tray properly and the pickup roller is old

the lanier ln118 is about 5 years old has about 100,000 copies. they had it serviced about 3 months ago, but this is happening.
                        the major tinting.
thanks for all the help guys
