    PCU's on newer color Mach.

Hey is anyone having problems with pcu's only lasting 5k or less. Seems like a winter problem as I am in Minnesota. Does anyone have a solution?

Clean the charge roller of the pcu unit. But place a paper between the charge roller and the cleaning charge roller.

And only clean it with soft towel with a little water (nothine else, this will damage the coating). Let it dry properly before placing it back.

      This applies to the MPC-series.

If you're really careful you can just take the pressure springs off to clean the charge roller. The MPC3500-5000 have been a total bitch this winter for this.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

        Hit it.

There is a modification for this problem, it involves replacing the developer and switch toner supply control to PID.

But we are testing this in The Netherlands, so i hope it solves this problem...
