    My machine eat the developer

I have aficio 1060 machine , with less than 300K I check the developer and I found that the developer less than 300g .( 1/3 of the original amount 900g) . without any accumulation of the developer in anywhere.
    Why this happened.

Might be the drum charge has ramped up and is pulling developer off the mag roller onto the drum. I'd do a full PM rebuild, drum, drum blade, brush and PCU filter, dev, toner recycling unit and dev filter. After initialising these parts it should settle down. It could also possibly be the dev unit is leaking. Look on the back of the feed stations and see if there is developer on them. Have you had any jamming issues recently?
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

    Hit it.

Any grit on the copies? If one of the LEDs is out on the quenching lamp assy it will do this. Or drum ground going flaky - extremely rare for one of these machines, but possible since they're getting older.

Most likely TonerMunkeh is right and a good PM including new drum will fix it.

And be sure to vac out the cleaner unit. That developer will chew up some bushings!

Yeah how many copies on the development unit ? I bet it's all running down the rear of the machine into the paper feed units.

There might be no dev in the paper feed units. It went in the transferunit and the waste toner bottle.
            Happend to me 5 times.
            PM is the best solution.

Yeah it needs the pm just saying if it's an old dev unit it might be leaking so look before just putting more developer in.

Peel of the label covering the mechanical counter - you'll probably find it's done about 2 million and had a new NVRAM!
